A deputy was arrested in Central Florida.
The Hillsborough County deputy was arrested following a domestic violence incident in Pasco County.
35-year-old Dayton Thomas, assigned to the Department of Patrol Services, was arrested by the Pasco Sheriff’s Office facing a Domestic Aggravated Battery charge involving Serious Injuries.
According to local law enforcement, this charge stems from an incident that occurred in Port Richey. According to investigators, Thomas was involved in a domestic-related altercation during which the victim sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
“This type of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “No one is above the law, and when a member of this Sheriff’s Office violates it, they will be held fully accountable. Our community deserves better, and we will not compromise the standards we are sworn to uphold.”
Thomas has been employed with HCSO for 10 years, and he was suspended without pay pending the outcome of the criminal and administrative investigation.
