A woman was raped in her home early on Monday morning as her 4-month-old baby slept nearby, Orange County deputies said.
Deputies believe the suspect broke into the home in the vicinity of 40th Street and Ravenwood Avenue just after 1:30 a.m.
The woman told deputies she was asleep with her 4-month-old baby and was awakened to find a man standing over her with a weapon.
The suspect proceeded to rape the woman then fled the scene. A short time later, the woman ran into the street and flagged down an Orange County deputy.
Deputies set up a parameter, but have not apprehended a suspect. A search warrant was executed in the area of 45th and Rio Grande, investigators said.
A composite sketch of the suspect has not yet been released.
