A Polk County man has been arrested for violating probation but Lake County Sheriff’s deputies believe that he is linked to the disappearance of an 81-year-old woman.
Donald Williams, 50, was arrested in Polk County on Saturday on violation of probation warrant and deputies are questioning him on his role in the disappearance of Janet Patrick, 81 years.
Williams was caught on surveillance camera at a Publix supermarket with Ms. Patrick on Monday, October 18th which is the last time Ms. Patrick was seen. Surveillance showed Williams leaving the supermarket with Ms. Patrick and driving away in her 2000 White Chevy Impala. Williams had been identified as a person of interest in Ms. Williams disappearance.
Deputies located Ms. Patrick’s vehicle in Polk County at a vacant business next to a Raceway gas station which is located just south of I-4 on US Hwy 27.
Janet Patrick remains missing.
Deputies would not comment on how the vehicle or Williams were located beyond good police work by Lake and Polk County Sheriff’s and the diligence of the public.
Williams is on sex offender probation and has been arrested in the past for Armed Carjacking, Kidnapping and Sexual Assault.
