Orange County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who shot and killed a CD street vendor on Friday night on Forest City Road, near Eatonville.
Deputies responded to the shooting scene outside a business strip at 6814 Forest City Road near Kennedy Avenue, after receiving a 911 call around 9:38 on Friday night. Detectives learned there was some type of dispute between a CD vendor and a black male who produced a firearm and shot the victim.
The CD vendor, identified as Larry Aikens, 40, died on the spot.
Deputies said that while Aikens was being shot, witnesses rushed to the scene to assist, and the suspect again, opened fire shooting a second victim. The second victim, who has not being identified, was able to run to an area business, Kathy’s Wings & Subs, to ask for help. He was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive.
Meanwhile, it is believed that the gunman fled the scene in a silver Honda Elantra. He is described as a black male, about 170 pounds and about 6′ 1″ tall, with a heavy beard, reports wftv.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423 8477. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
Homicide investigators are continuing with their investigation.
