A suspect, armed with a hammer smashed his way into a fast foods restaurant, fleeing with cash, early on Monday morning, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said.
Investigators said, a male suspect smashed a window of the Wendy’s Restaurant located at 7091 south Orange Blossom Trail just after 2:00 a.m., on Monday, entering the store through the window.
The suspect confronted employees who were cleaning up for the night, in the back of the business and demanded money. The employees complied with the suspect’s demands and the suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.
It is not known if any of the employees were hurt. But, deputies said, a red vehicle was seen leaving the area immediately after the robbery.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 6’2″ tall, weighing about 250 pounds. The man was wearing a gray jacket, blue jeans and a ski mask at the time of the robbery.
