A 29-year-old man was booked into the Orange County Jail early on Saturday, accused of attempting to kidnap an 8-year-old girl, deputies said.
Micah J. Green, a transient, was arrested and charged with kidnapping and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A mother told investigators that her 8-year-old daughter was outside their residence on 36th Street, Nashville, before 4:00 pm, on Friday, when suspect Green approached her and forcefully pulled the girl toward him. The child was able to break free and run to her mother.
Investigators said, the mother took off after suspect Green, chasing him on foot, initially. She told deputies she drove around the area with her daughter looking for Green until she found him.
Green, who ran into the Race Trac located at 3508 35th Street, was held by several citizens until deputies arrived.
29-year-old Micah Jamal Green was booked into the Orange County Jail just before 1:00 am, on Saturday. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
