Deputy Chief Sonja White was hired on February 12, 1984. She worked on the Tactical Patrol Force, the Summer Program, Patrol, Parramore Storefront and the Criminal Investigations Division in the Sex Crimes Unit.
On February 6, 1994, she was promoted to sergeant. She was assigned to Patrol, the Gang Unit, and the West Property Unit. In 1998, she was promoted to lieutenant and worked in both Patrol and the Community Involvement section. She was promoted to Captain in 2003, where she oversaw the West Patrol Division and Criminal Investigation Division.
On January 1, 2008, Sonja White was promoted to Deputy Chief where she serves as the Commander of the Investigative Services Bureau.
Deputy Chief Sonja White was recognized with 25 years of distinguished service at the Orlando Police Department Award Ceremony.
