Deadly Hit and Run Driver Arrested at Home

Troopers arrested an Orlando man after he fled the scene from a deadily hit-and-run that happened early on Monday morning.

Mercury Kane - arrested for leaving the scene of a fatal crash

Florida Highway Patrol found 34-year-old Mercury Kane at his home at 12720 Topsfield Drive later on Monday.

Troopers said, he was driving a 2011 Chevy Camaro heading south on John Young Boulevard near Whisper Lakes Boulevard around 3:30 a.m., when he failed to notice a Bash Moped, driven by 32-year-old Pablo Saa Tarazona, of Kissimmee, in front.

Kane collided with the back of Saa Tarazona’s moped which came to rest in the center median of John Young Boulevard. Kane then took off to his residence.

Saa Tarazona was pronounced dead on the spot by the medical examiner.

Troopers said, Kane eventually came out of his house and was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash involving death. He was booked into the Orange County Jail around 11:00 a.m.

It is unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.

FHP said, the crash remains under investigation and additional charges are pending.
