Governor Charlie Crist does not rule out having a special session in October which could include discussing energy and oil, along with the gambling pact that he signed on Monday.
In response to a question at to what might be on the agenda, Crist said, “possibly energy.”
And Oil? “Possibly, sure.” He added, “and lower taxes.”
During the last regular session Crist pushed for a renewable energy package, but it did not make it as House leaders tried to tack on oil drilling.
A new approach will be taken to oil drilling by the leadership, wherein it will be argued that, like the gambling pact, oil drilling is much needed to generate revenues for such matters as,land conservation and solar energy research.
Crist said that October seems to be a good time for a special session, although it not yet been decided.
