City of St. Cloud hosted a Healthy 4 Life Employee Health Care Center Ribbon Cutting/Grand Opening Ceremony Wednesday, at the new center located at 2950 Lakeshore Blvd. in St. Cloud. The center is in a former Public Services building that was renovated by Building Maintenance personnel that now offers a new health care option to municipal employees and retirees and their family members who are enrolled as health care beneficiaries.
“This is the completion of a very special project,” said Mayor Rebecca Borders. “The opening of this health care center is of benefit to both our municipal employees and to our citizens. Our hard-working employees will benefit from these great services and our citizens will see savings in our tax-dollar budget. To just look at this center shows the pride of our employees. This building was refurbished by our employees, for our employees and it will be here for them and all our health care beneficiaries for years to come. Thank you to all for making this happen.”
City of St. Cloud is a self-insured employer. The municipality entered into a health services agreement with Marathon Health, Inc., for the purpose of providing employee health care services to 825 employees and their family members enrolled as health care beneficiaries. Healthy 4 Life Employee Health Care Center is staffed by clinicians who offer school physicals for employees’ children (six years old and up/enrolled as health care beneficiaries), some non-narcotics medications, and other services including health screenings, lab tests, disease management, health coaching, and primary care.
“We are looking forward to serving you and serving you well,” said Marathon Health, Inc. Chief Executive Officer Jerry Ford. “This a proverbial win-win situation; we’ll help people live healthier lives and find their way toward this path and taxpayers will see savings. We want all beneficiaries to utilize this center. You have a wonderful team to be proud of and a wonderful center as well.”
