City Observes National Moment of Remembrance

 

The City of Orlando is inviting all citizens to join the men and women of the Orlando Fire Department and Orlando City Commissioners at Orlando Fire Station One for a moment of silence and short ceremony honoring our military as part of the National Moment of Remembrance that takes place throughout our country at 3:00 p.m.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer also encourages all of our residents citywide to pause at 3:00 p.m. for a moment of silence to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our great country.

The “National Moment of Remembrance Act” was established by Congress in 2000 and designates 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day each year as the National Moment of Remembrance, in honor of the men and women of the United States who died in the pursuit of freedom and peace.
