Another Central Florida student was recently arrested for bringing a weapon onto school grounds.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested the 13-year-old student at Webb Middle School in Town ‘n’ Country near Tampa for bringing the weapon onto school grounds.
According to law enforcement, on April 22nd, school administrators received a tip regarding a student possibly in possession of a weapon.
An administrative search was conducted, during which a switchblade-style knife was found inside the student’s backpack.
The student, 13-year-old Didier Ocupa Alvarado, admitted to bringing the knife to school and was arrested and charged with Possession of a Weapon on School Property.
“There is absolutely no place for weapons on our school campuses,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to the vigilance of school staff and the courage of those who reported it, a potentially dangerous situation was quickly addressed. We will always prioritize the safety of our students and staff.”
This is an active investigation, according to local law enforcement.
