The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 33-year-old Central Florida man for aggravated child abuse of an eight-month-old baby.
On February 18th, the mother of an eight-month-old baby left her child in the care of 33-year-old James Clark while she went to work.
While the mother was at work, she got a call from Clark, who informed her that the child had accidentally burned their hand by reaching into a cup of hot chocolate. Upon returning home, the mother noticed that her baby had suffered severe injuries and discovered bruises all over the child’s body. The mother immediately rushed her baby to the hospital.
After being examined by my medical personnel, it was established that the baby had endured various inflicted injuries. These included injuries to the ears from high-velocity force, broken blood vessels, a non-displaced left parietal fracture, and a significant burn needing skin grafting.
On February 22, 2024, Clark was arrested without incident and charged with the following:
- Aggravated Child Abuse x2
- Child Abuse
- Child Neglect
“The magnitude of this case is indescribable; the thought that someone could inflict such harm on a defenseless eight-month-old baby is sickening,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We are disgusted by this man’s actions and will ensure that he is held accountable for his cruelty. We’re committed to making sure every child is secure and protected.”
This is an active investigation, according to local law enforcement.
Hopefully you have judges over there that put perps in jail where they belong, unlike in Lake County where bail is the norm!
