Central Florida Carjacking Suspect Arrested

A 37-year-old Cenral Florida man suspected of carjacking an AMR supervisor vehicle in Tampa has been arrested.




On March 25th, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office’s Auto Theft Unit received a tip about the whereabouts of Gregory Mcgall, who was wanted for car theft and a recent carjacking of an AMR supervisor vehicle that had taken place on March 21, 2024.

Mcgall was spotted in a silver Nissan Altima near Highway 60 and County Line. 42-year-old Jerry Skidmore, who had active warrants, was driving the vehicle.

Local law enforcement units conducted surveillance and observed the vehicle stopping at a gas station. Upon moving in for the arrest, the car attempted to flee but was quickly stopped by local deputies.

Both Skidmore and Mcgall were taken into custody and are facing the following charges:




Gregory Mcgall:

  • Criminal Mischief $1,000 or More
  • Grand Theft Motor Vehicle
  • Burglary of an Unoccupied Conveyance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell or Deliver
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Resisting Officer Without Violence
  • Out of County Warrant CT 1 Home Invasion
  • Out of County Warrant CT3 Petit Theft
  • Out of County Warrant CT 2 Carjacking
  • Carjacking
  • Criminal Mischief to Telephone
  • Aggravated Assault with Intent to Commit a Felony

Jerry Skidmore:

  • Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement Officer with Deadly Weapon x3
  • Fleeing and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer x2
  • Driving with License Canceled, Suspended, or Revoked x2
  • Resisting Officer Without Violence
  • VOP Felony Fleeing/Elude LEO
  • VOP Burglary Unoccupied Dwelling
  • Out of County Warrant VOP S/M/D Meth
  • Out of County Warrant VOP OBSTR Crime Investigation
  • Out of County Warrant VOP Possession Drug Paraphernalia
