Central Florida AFL-CIO Endorses in Orlando District 5 Commissioner Race

The Central Florida AFL-CIO labor union endorsed in the Orlando District 5 Commissioner race between Shan Rose and Regina Hill.

Interim Orlando Commissioner Shan Rose announced the union support, which is another boost to her campaign against former Commissioner Regina Hill, who was removed from office by Governor Ron DeSantis after she was charged with serious felony charges.

“Thank you, Central Florida AFL-CIO, for your endorsement and continued support on my re-election as Orlando District 5 City Commissioner,” Shan Rose said. “I’m proud to stand with working families and committed to fighting for fair wages, strong labor rights, and dignity for every worker. Together, we’ll build a stronger, more equitable future.”

Commissioner Rose said AFL-CIO represents over 70,000 Union workers in Central Florida – including custodians, teachers, electricians, painters, cooks, housekeepers, and many more – who keep the local community running. She said that “working families are the backbone of our communities, and this campaign is about making sure their voices are heard loud and clear.”

“I have fought for safer communities, affordable housing, safe working conditions, and more,” Orlando Commissioner Shan Rose said. “With the backing of organized labor, we are stronger and more united in our fight for fairness and dignity for every worker. This isn’t just about politics, this is about Purpose, Presence, and Putting the People First!”
