During the weekend of April 5th, The Friends of Casa Feliz hosted the 7th Annual James Gamble Rogers Colloquium on Historic Preservation. More than 200 visitors enjoyed historic Winter Park’s architecture, brick streets, upscale shops and restaurants, while celebrating the legacy of one of the city’s best-known architects.
Sponsored by the Friends of Casa Feliz, the Colloquium featured a keynote address by famed architecture critic Paul Goldberger, whom the Huffington Post named “the leading figure in architecture criticism.” It also featured a panel discussion involving Goldberger and architects Jack Rogers and Jame Gamble Rogers III. Attendees also toured some of six Winter Park homes celebrated for their outstanding architecture.
“During the weekend, our goal was to help attendees appreciate buildings that, like those of Gamble Rogers, contribute to our area’s rich architectural heritage,” said Betsy Rogers Owens, Executive Director for the Friends of Casa Feliz. “I think we achieved that and so much more.”
