Business Owner Accused of Molesting Boys in ‘Predators Paradise’

A business owner who traveled throughout Central Florida in his mobile games van, was today charged with several counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child.

Richard Filipkowski - suspect

44-year-old Richard Filipkowski, of Lakeland, admitted to not only giving alcohol to and molesting a 13-year-old boy in his ‘Games 2 U’ van, but also molesting another boy about 13 or 14-year-old.

Filipkowski traveled around in his well-known franchised mobile van, equipped with flat screen television and video games and booked events such as birthday parties, children’s events and church and school functions, Polk County investigators said.  He admitted to performing sex acts in the van on one victim, who was 13 years old at the time, and also to performing sex acts in his home on another victim, who was 13 or 14 years old at the time.

Detectives were alerted to the sexual abuse from an out-of-state Social Servics Office detailing the sexual abuse of the 13-year-old boy, when he began going to counseling after moving away from Florida.

Filipkowski was taken into custory and charged with 9 counts lewd and lascivious molestation on a victim under 16 Years of Age, and 11 counts lewd and lascivious exhibition in the presence of a child.

“This suspect, Leonard Filipkowski, is our worst nightmare. He has no criminal record, no history of abusing children, and a business that caters to children. His van is a predator’s paradise. We are asking parents to talk to their children and let us know as soon as possible if there are any more children out there who have been victimized by this predator,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said.
