According to the Orlando Business Journal, there are about 4,000 job openings in Central Florida, yet to be filled.
Although Orlando’s unemployment reached 11 percent in July, the highest point since 1975, there are vacancies and jobs to be had.
The Orlando Business Journal surveyed some 100 Central Florida employers and discerned that there are jobs in several sectors such as health care, education, and sales and marketing. Jobs are available too at call centers, and there are some openings in the hospitality sector with the soon-to-come on stream Hilton Bonnet Creek and Waldorf Astoria hotels.
While the retail sector has been hard hit, Wal-Mart proves to be an exception with 250 positions it plans to hire, says the Orlando Business Journal.
