Thousands of British students took to the streets of London to protest the more than three times increase in University fees, as the U. K. presses ahead with its austerity program. There were several clashes between students and police.
A car in which Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornall were traveling, was attacked by violent protesters. There were shouts of “off with their heads” as the angry mob rushed the vehicle, throwing paint and other objects, smashing the back window.
