There was a fatal crash involving a Brightline train and a bicyclist in Florida.
The latest Brightline train collision with the person on a bike in South Florida left one person dead.
In Florida, the vast majority of Brightline train fatalities are typically classified as incidents involving pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, or trespassers. Around 200 fatalities have been attributed to Brightline trains in Florida, according to reports.
Brightline is struggling in Florida and news of deaths involving the trains do not help.
In this incident, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and Brightline investigators were on the scene of the fatal crash involving a bicyclist and Brightline train at Monterey Road and Dixie Highway locally. Officials warned of delays in that area and told drivers to seek alternative route as they investigated.
Local law enforcement did not release any additional details at the time.
