Orange County homicide investigators are undertaking a death investigation into human remains found deep inside a wooded field on the north side of east Colonial Drive.
Deputies said that a group of hunters discovered a dead body around 11:04 am, on Sunday, December 5th, in the wooded field on the north side of east Colonial Drive, east of State Road 520. When deputies arrived at the scene, they secured the area and requested homicide investigators and support units to assist at the location.
Deputies said, while there are items present at the location that might assist homicide investigators, the investigation is in its infancy and no further details are being released at this time. No indication as been given on the gender of the body.
The investigation is ongoing.
