The Black Partnership of Florida Moves Forward    

Over 150 Central Florida business executives and professionals attended the Black Partnership of Florida Transportation Industry Power Lunch held April 15, 2008 at the Lexington Hotel in Downtown Orlando. The Power Lunch, the third in a series focusing on contracting opportunities for minorities was held in partnership with the local Black Caucus, Metropolitan Orlando Urban League, Black Business Investment Fund, Florida Minority Supplier Diversity Council, METROPLAN Orlando and Circle of Friends.

 

The discussion was moderated by Harry Barley, Executive Director, METROPLAN ORLANDO. Informative presentations were conducted by presenters: Larry Dale, President, Sanford Airport Authority; Jim Ely, Executive Director, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise; Bob Gilbert, Deputy Executive Director, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority; Mike Snyder, Executive Director Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority; Rise’ Wall, District 5 – Director of Administration, Florida Department of Transportation and Linda Watson, Executive Director, Lynx.

The event was sponsored by the Orlando Magic, METROPLAN ORLANDO, Lynum & Sanchez Law Firm and The Circle of Friends of Central Florida.

The Black Partnership of Florida is the organization providing the logistical support for Black and African American leaders and organizations to promote common community agendas.
