Black diamond stingray pups have joined the family at Audubon Park School in Orlando. Orange County Public Schools said that for Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! last week, students visited the media center to meet their newest family members and hear from the two scientists – from Predatory Fins and Center for Stingray Biology – who bred and donated the male pups.
The OCPS students learned about the black diamond rays and the caring process. Here’s a photo of the beautiful black diamond stingray:
In addition to these fabulous water creatures, the school’s media center is home to a sand boa, tiger salamanders, axolotls, clawed frogs, tree frogs, tarantulas, coral reef and alligators.
Pretty cool for an Orlando school!
