Black Businesses to Host Major Networking Event

The Black Business Investment Fund (BBIF) 15th Annual Business and Professional Networking Event will be held Friday, May 14, 2010 at Camp Down Recreation Park, Windermere, 5:00 pm-7:30 pm.

Over 400 of the area’s top executives, business owners, decision makers and local professionals are expected to attend, all in an effort to promote local business initiatives, relationship building and strengthen networks that will push trade and industry efforts that will help boost Central Florida’s economy.

“Metro Orlando and the surrounding area have been hit hard by the nation’s economic crisis,” said Inez Long, BBIF president.  “The BBIF is looking to help diversify the local economy and provide solid footing for start-up companies, direction for established firms, and small business advocacy, which is what will lead the Central Florida market well into the next decade.”

The BBIF has helped to provide 241 loans totaling over $27 Million and helping to retain and create over 3400 jobs; creating an economic impact in excess of $200 Million into the seven county region.

Backed by corporate sponsors and partnerships, such as the Orlando Magic, the Orange County Expressway Authority and the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC), the BBIF event will rest upon three major business disciplines:

* Networking and relationship building
* Community Service
* Maximizing Profit in any economic condition

“I am excited to know that this organization is helping to spur small businesses to success while creating lasting partnerships with local corporations,” stated Jacqueline Barr, Dir. of Business Development for the Orange County Expressway Authority.  “It is helping to foster a healthy business environment, where competition is solid and Central Florida’s economy can once again prosper.”

For more information on the networking event, call (407) 649-4780, or visit: www.BBIF.com.  Registration is free for business owner and professionals before May 3, 2010.
