On Saturday, November 19th, Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Law is hosting the annual Classic Tailgate. This is an event for alumni, students, faculty, staff, family and friends to enjoy music, great food and fun before the Florida Classic game between FAMU and Bethune Cookman University.
FAMU Law Dean Deidré Keller is scheduled to dedicate an office to the late Dr. Frederick S. Humphries at 11am. Dr. Humphries was a former FAMU president. He passed away in 2021.
At 12:30pm attorney Ben Crump is scheduled to present a $50,000 donation to support the Arthenia L. Joyner Endowed Scholarship. A member of the last graduating class of the original law school in Tallahassee, Joyner is a former Florida legislator and pioneer in the legal profession.
There is also a special plaque presentation to the Class of 2011 for winning the 20th Anniversary Class Challenge by donating the most money toward the $25,000 goal.
The Classic Tailgate is scheduled for 11:30am to 2:30pm at 201 FAMU Law Lane in Orlando.
