A man who was arrested at the Orange County Corrections Department – Booking and Release Center (BRC) on Monday, has escaped, deputies said.

Willie Melvin Hollis, 31, an habitual traffic offender, was arrested when he drove to a court hearing at BRC.  Deputies said, he shouldn’t have been driving.

While in a holding area and the deputy was completing paperwork, Hollis is believed to have walked around the glass holding area and sprinted to a waiting vehicle outside.  Investigators say, his girlfriend could have been driving the waiting vehicle.

Hollis is at large.  He was last seen driving a gray 2008 Nissan Altima with a New York license place.  He is about 5′ 10″ tall and has dreadlocks.
