Senator Dave Aronberg (District 27), one of the candidates in the race for Florida Attorney General will make Medicaid fraud one of his top priorities if elected to that office. Aronberg was responding to a question in an exclusive interview recently with West Orlando News regarding the billions of dollars which the state loses annually, on account of Medicaid fraud.
“Medicaid fraud will be one of my top priorities. We are going to fund it properly,” Aronberg said. “I am going to shift things around the office to make sure that we have more attorneys and more investigators in the Medicaid Fraud Division because, we know where the Medicaid fraud is; we just haven’t had the political will to make it a top priority. That is going to change because, not only does the state lose when it comes to siphoning off precious aid dollars when there is fraud, but when we don’t go after the fraud, we also leave Federal dollars on the table.”
Aronberg added that the current Attorney General, Bill McCollum has a different set of priorities.
