On Wednesday, another Orange County deputy sheriff was arrested, accused of battery (domestic violence). That’s two deputy sheriffs in two days.
Deputy Sheriff Michael Dunn, 42, was arrested on Wednesday, after an argument with his wife turned into a “physical altercation.”
According to the Arrest Affidavit, Dunn’s wife told responding deputies to the couple’s home that, after the argument escalated, “Michael came into the laundry room and pushed her down with both of his hands on her chest causing her to fall. She fell on the laundry room floor on her side and hit her head on the plaster of the wall causing a hole in the wall and slight pain to her neck area.”
Dunn was taken into custody and transported to the Orange County Jail. He has been charged with battery.
The Sheriff’s Office said, Dunn has been relieved from law enforcement duty and his firearms have been confiscated. He will continue to be paid pending an administrative reassignment.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Professional Standards Section will be conducting an administrative review of the circumstances.
On Tuesday, Deputy Sheriff William Martinez, 56, was arrested and charged with lascivious molestation of a disabled person.
