The Florida Lottery recently announced that Alex Mendoza Moreno, of Auburn, Alabama claimed a $1 million prize from the 500X THE CASH scratch-off game at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
The Auburn man chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $820,000.00.
Mendoza Moreno purchased his winning ticket from Food Mart, located at 710 North Highway 29 in Cantonment, Florida. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.
The $50 game, 500X THE CASH, features a top prize of $25 million—the largest ever offered on a Florida scratch-off game—and the best odds to become an instant millionaire. The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.50.
Recently, there have been many millionaire winners around Florida, including a Palm Beach County resident, and a St. Lucie County resident. A Hendry County resident recently won $1,000 a week for life. A Polk County resident from Lakeland won $2 million from a scratch-off, a Miami-Dade County resident won $1 million, and a Tampa man won $1 million, among many others. A Cape Coral resident also found a “lotto” luck with a $41 million jackpot win.
