An ex city of Cape Canaveral recreational director, Robert Lefever, who was caught red-handed stealing envelopes of cash intended for Friday Fest street parties, was sentenced Tuesday.
Lefever was sentenced to one year of probation, ordered to pay $2,850 in restitution and $998 in court costs, and ordered to attend eight hours of shoplifting/theft school for the third-degree felony of grand theft, clerk of courts records show, the Florida Today reported.
Lefever, who was caught by a secret video camera stealing envelopes of cash collected during Friday Fests, resigned in December amid a Brevard County Sheriff’s Office investigation into the allegations, Florida Today also reported.
