CFO Sink to Keynote Orlando Success Stories Luncheon

Chief Financial Officer for the State of Florida and Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink will speak at the Hispanic Business Initiative Fund’s (HBIF) 14th Annual Success Stories luncheon being held on Wednesday, September 16 at the Presidential Ballroom on Church Street, Orlando, Fla.

“CFO Sink is a true business and financial expert,” says HBIF President Ed Bustos, “With more than two decades of experience in the financial industry, CFO Sink is the ideal person to recognize some of the area’s most accomplished Hispanic entrepreneurs.”

Sink is currently serving her first term as Florida’s CFO, having been elected statewide in 2006. As CFO, Sink oversees nearly 3,000 employees and an annual budget of $300 million in the Department of Financial Services. She is also a statewide elected officer of the Florida Cabinet. Before her election in 2006, Alex Sink was a successful businesswoman, with 26 years of experience in the financial industry, culminating in her leadership of Florida’s largest bank. During her address, Sink will speak to the importance of Hispanic entrepreneurship in Florida. She will also speak to the economic impact small businesses have on the State.

The Annual Success Stories luncheon recognizes three of HBIF’s most outstanding clients for their excellence as small business owners. With more than 600 attendees, this event gathers Central Florida’s business community to recognize the true spirit of Hispanic entrepreneurship. Funds raised through this event will help provide business scholarships to Hispanic entrepreneurs. These scholarships are used for business plan development, marketing plan creation or accounting services.
