Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a woman inside an apartment on Orlando’s west side.
32-year-old Maurice H. Frye was taken into custody late on Monday, in connection with the shooting death of 31-year-old Lashondra Collier.
On Monday, just before 2:30 a.m., Collier was found suffering from a gunshot wound, when police arrived to an apartment in the 5400 block of Timberleaf Avenue. She was pronounced dead at a local area hospital.
It is not clear whether Collier and Frye were in a domestic relationship, but police from the outset said, she knew her killer.
The Orlando Police Department Fugitive Unit and US Marshals located Frye in Lake County on Monday and arrested him.
Frye has been charged with second degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was booked into the Orange County Jail without bond.
