Hundreds of Pine Hills and surrounding area residents participated in the grand opening of Family Physicians of Rosemont, a medical facility which provides comprehensive health care services to both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
Established by Family Physicians Group, a leader in primary care physician services in Florida, Family Physicians of Rosemont, located at 5554 Clarcona-Ocoee Road in Orlando, aims to serve up to 3,000 patients, when a third full-time physician comes on board.
“The Family Physicians of Rosemont is one of the first facilities which will be specializing in providing services not only for Medicare patients, but Medicaid patients as well,” said Dr. Andy Vyas, CEO and President of Family Physicians Group. “We have special care programs designed for Medicaid patients and when coordinated properly, many will be kept out of hospitals.”
The Group’s emphasis is on preventive services, continuum of care and coordination of care, with its team of expert doctors, specialists, case managers and ancillary staff, all of whom will be in constant contact with patients. “The idea is to keep patients out of the hospital as much as you can and to make them comfortable and give good care,” Vyas added.
The Family Physicians of Rosemont is unique in that there is an on-site pharmacy – FDRx – where patients can pick-up medications after seeing their doctor.
“There will be pharmacists located at the Rosemont facility who will be able to talk to patients and doctors and ensure that medications are being taken correctly,” said Vyas. “And this is huge….and it is something that is not being done by say, Walgreens.”
In addition to having a pharmacy on site, Family Physicians of Rosemont boasts a range of other services, including a diagnostic center, at-home care, disease management, appointment transportation to and from the facility, and a seniors club, where patients are able to socialize and chat with various specialists.
Vanessa Price, FPG – Marketing Director said, Family Physicians of Rosemont was built from the ground up, and is perceived as a supercenter owing to the host of value added services that are offered patients.
“Our goal is to place patients at the center of the health care delivery system in this underserved community,” she said. “And working with health coaches, we will give patients the necessary tools to maintain their well-being and to live better and healthier lives.”
Residents who turned out for the grand opening, took the opportunity to sign up and obtain information from a number of providers present including, Granny Nannies, Digestive & Liver Center of Florida and Physicians Hospitalist Partners.
Currently, Family Physicians of Rosemont is served by FPG’s Dr. Tonya Young-Henley, a Board Certified Family Practice doctor and Phil Ciufo, a Certified Physician Assistant. They are supported by rotating specialists, case managers, health coaches and other ancillary staff.
