About 250 less fortunate children will get to go shopping with cops at the Super Target in the Winter Garden Village, on Saturday morning.
The event is part of the Cops and Kids program that provides children, between the ages of five and thirteen, from diverse communities with an opportunity to experience the Christmas spirit.
Each child will receive a $100 shopping spree at the Super Target. It is an opportunity for the children to create enjoyable positive memories while shopping with an uniformed law enforcement officer. The outing also gives the officer a chance to speak with the children about the dangers of drug use, crime, and the importance of an education.
Of course Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and the elves will be present!
