The body of a man was discovered floating in the St. John’s River on Wednesday and deputies are still trying to determine the identity of the deceased.
Authorities say, the discovery was made by a boater, who then flagged down a water unit with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
The body was found around mid-day yesterday north of the Highbanks Marina.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team retrieved the body and brought the man to shore.
Authorities are still trying to determine the identity of the deceased and his cause of death.
