A teenager, who posed as a physician’s assistant, performing physical examinations on two patients at the Osceola Medical Center, was sentenced to jail on Wednesday afternoon.
Matthew Scheidt, 18, was sentenced by an Osceola County judge to one year in jail, with credit for time served.
Scheidt, who has already been in jail for 264 days, will spend an additional 101 days behind bars.
Scheidt could have faced a much longer prison term, but the judge concluded that he had no malice, although he was very aware of what he was doing, according to news reports.
Scheidt still has to answer charges in Miami for impersonating a police officer. On that occasion he was charged with carrying a concealed firearm and a concealed weapon.
