An Orlando motorcyclist was killed on Curry Ford Road, after being hit by a car on Saturday, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened near River Ridge Drive on Orange County’s east side, just before 4:30 p.m.
Troopers say, Marie L. Harrison, 36, of Winter Springs was stopped westbound on Hidden River Drive and preparing to turn left onto Curry Ford Road.
As Harrison traveled forward, that’s when 22-year-old Joshua Raim Lopez, who was heading eastbound on a Honda Mitsubishi, struck the front, left corner of the 2002 Chevy Tracker Harrison was driving.
Lopez, who was wearing a helmet, died later at Florida Hospital East.
Troopers also say, the crash remains under investigation.
Unusual reporting. How do you make it sound like the mororcycle is at fault when he had the right of way and was on a thoroughfare? Also since Curry Ford runs east/west how is the SUV coming off a side street “stopped westbound?” Regardless, the SUV was obviously at fault since she pulled out in front of oncoming traffic. Wonder if a cell phone was involved?
