A 67-year-old man was killed today, after his motorcycle caught fire when it struck a car on Landstreet Road in Orange County.
The crash happened near Gills Drive, around 5:00 p.m.
Troopers say, the motorcyclist had just pulled out from a private driveway on the south side of LandstreetRoad to travel westbound. That’s when the rider abruptly changed lanes into the right through lane. The front of the motorcycle struck the left, front of a 2004 Cadillac. 47-year-old James Prochet was driving the Cadillac.
Troopers also say, the motorcycle caught fire and the unnamed rider was burned. He died at the Orlando Regional Medical Hospital.
The name of the motorcycle rider has not been released. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation, troopers said.
