An ex-Orlando police officer, accused of shooting his son to death last a little over one year ago, faced a judge on Friday morning.
Timothy Davis, Sr., who admitted to shooting his 22-year-old son, Timothy Davis, Jr., in their Apopka home on October 2011, said he acted in self-defence.
Davis’ defense team is asking for immunity under Florida’s “stand your ground” law, cfnews13.com reported.
Home surveillance video caught Davis Sr., and Davis Jr., confronting each other, and his defense team has asked the judge to toss out the video, according to wdbo.com.
Davis fired two shots into his son’s chest that ended his life.
The judge has not yet ruled on Davis’ defense motion for immunity.
