Senior Riley O’Donnell rolled a 494 series as Women’s Bowling picked up their second straight victory, 2038-1952, over visiting Wekiva to improve to 7-6 on the season. Men’s Bowling saw junior George Johnson roll a team-high 208 but the Panthers (11-2) fell to Wekiva, 2787-2566. DP wrapped up its Metro West schedule with a record of 6-1 to finish second in the conference, their best finish since 1999.

Women’s Volleyball battled hard in all three games but couldn’t overcome a strong Boone team in the District Championship last night. Marianna Diegues finished with ten kills and Rachel Sawyer registered ten digs and five kills as the Panthers (18-8) fell to the Braves 25-21, 25-19, 26-24. DP will await the District 3 results tomorrow night to determine where they will travel next Tuesday for the Regional Quarterfinal.

Women’s Soccer opened their pre-season slate last night against First Academy but came up short, 2-1. TFA opened scoring in the 15th minute, but Caroline Polder had an answer ten minutes later when she took a corner kick that deflected off a defender and found the back of the net to level the game at 1-1.  From there it was a defensive battle.  Fernanda Isayyid, Jamie Bolling, and Nikki Trimarche had outstanding performances on the back line, but, TFA had knocked in the game-winner in the 78th minute for the final margin.

DP senior Football players Kenderson Obas, Matt Milano, Victor Clavier and Marcell Harris were named to the All-District team (Orange and Osceola counties) by the area coaches. DP head coach Rodney Wells was also named the District Coach of the Year in Class 8A.
