A man was shot dead on his birthday and two others were injured, after a gunman opened fire early on Saturday morning, Orange County deputies say.
46-year-old Luverne Carlos Battle was found dead in the roadway near a residence in the 1600 block on 26th Street in Orlando. Battle, who had just turned 46 years on the day he was killed, was discovered about 2:30 a.m., by detectives.
At the residence deputies found 29-year-old John Charles and 28-year-old Yoshi King suffering from non-life threatening gunshot injuires. Both were transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Deputies have not yet established the relationship between Battle and the two other victims.
It is believed that the shooter fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.
