Deputies on Wednesday arrested the man who they say is responsible for the murder of popular Orlando musician, Damien D. Rahim.
Polk County detectives took 26-year-old Calvin Deon Jones into custody at a home in the Poinciana area, after receiving a tip regarding his possible location.
Jones was arrested without incident.
Deputies say, Jones shot and killed, Damien Rahim, 37, as he sat in his car in the parking lot of a Days Inn Motel in Davenport on September 15.
Rahim, who went by the stage name “Khamelien,” was a popular reggae musician in Orlando.
Jones’ motive for killing Rahim is unclear, but deputies say, Jones has a long criminal record going back to 2003.
Jones was booked into the Polk County Jail and is being held without bond.
I loved Damien, a beautiful spirit with a kind and loving heart. I called him my little brother, he called me his big sis and dentist. His songs were about non-violence, peace and sharing love which he did at all times with a smile. We will miss him dearly and though this punk has been captured, it can not bring back that bright light that was Damien. RIP little brother…you are loved and missed.
