Suspect Arrested in Murder of Orlando Musician, Damien Rahim

Deputies on Wednesday arrested the man who they say is responsible for the murder of popular Orlando musician, Damien D. Rahim.

Polk County detectives took 26-year-old Calvin Deon Jones into custody at a home in the Poinciana area, after receiving a tip regarding his possible location.

Jones was arrested without incident.

Deputies say, Jones shot and killed, Damien Rahim, 37, as he sat in his car in the parking lot of a Days Inn Motel in Davenport on September 15.

Rahim, who went by the stage name “Khamelien,” was a popular reggae musician in Orlando.

Jones’ motive for killing Rahim is unclear, but deputies say, Jones has a long criminal record going back to 2003.

Jones was booked into the Polk County Jail and is being held without bond.

  1. I loved Damien, a beautiful spirit with a kind and loving heart. I called him my little brother, he called me his big sis and dentist. His songs were about non-violence, peace and sharing love which he did at all times with a smile. We will miss him dearly and though this punk has been captured, it can not bring back that bright light that was Damien. RIP little brother…you are loved and missed.
