Investigators Search for Gunman in Murder of Orlando Musician

Calvin Jones – suspect

Deputies are searching for a man who they say gunned down a popular Orlando musician on Saturday night.

Polk County investigators believe that 26-year-old Calvin D. Jones, of Lake Wales, shot and killed 37-year-old Damien Dominique Rahim, of Orlando, as he sat in a car in the parking lot of a Days Inn Motel.

Rahim, who went by the stage name “Khamelien,” was a popular reggae musician in Orlando.

Detectives found Rahim dead in a car parked at the Days Inn Motel at 2425 Frontage Road near U.S. Highway 27 North in Davenport around 9.20 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators released surveillance video of the suspect vehicle entering, circling and then parking at the Days Inn parking lot, which point to Jones at the gunman.

Jones was later positively identified as the suspect in Rahim’s murder. Deputies say, he has a long criminal record going back to 2003.
