Women’s Volleyball got 16 digs and four kills from Michelle Maki and seven more kills from Emily Morrell in a three-game sweep over host Lake Nona, 25-9, 25-13, 25-17.  The Panthers improved to 5-3 on the season. JV Volleyball also won in straight sets, 25-22, 25-20, for their third consecutive victory. Silvana Del Aguila hit for ten service points, including four aces, while Rebacca Colon and  Danielle Villegas provided the spark at the net with seven and five kills, respectively.

Men’s Golf returned to the winner’s circle yesterday with an impressive victory over host Lake Minneola, 150-168 at a windy Sanctuary Ridge. Senior captain Ben Huizinga led the way again for the Panthers (3-1) with an even par 35 followed by Jonathan Sundstrom (37), Jacob Huizinga (39) and Zack Justice (39).

The Women’s Golf team shot their second lowest round of the season so far, a 169, but it wasn’t enough to defeat state power Circle Christian.  Four DP sophmores shot particularly well. Sophie Benetti came into the clubhouse at 38 with Cristine Lee (39) and Mao Young (41) close behind. Abby Goodin had a solid day as well, finishing with 51.

Men’s Bowling stayed perfect on the season at 3-0 with a resounding victory over Edgewater, 2401-1989. George Johnson led the charge for the Panthers with a 606 series.  Women’s Bowling picked up a 172 high game from senior Riley O’Donnell but the Panthers (1-2) fell to Edgewater, 2189-2004. Both teams will take on Olympia this afternoon.

Freshmen and JV Football host Wekiva tonight at 6:00 and 7:30, respectively, and DP’s top-ranked Varsity Football team travels to Wekiva tomorrow night.
