Orange County Mayor, Teresa Jacobs has appointed new managers to key positions at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC.)
Kathleen Canning, Jan Addison, Yulita Osuba, Kris Shoemaker, Terry Devitt and David Ingram have all been appointed as new managers at the OCCC.
Effective July 1, Kathleen Canning was appointed as General Manager. Kathie joined the OCCC in 1985 and over the past 27 years, has provided invaluable assistance to sales, planning and development for the center’s expansion projects. She will oversee all sales and operations at the center.
In August the following individuals were appointed by Mayor Teresa Jacobs:
Jan Addison was appointed to Deputy General Manager. Jan is a 24-year veteran of Orange County Government, and has served as the OCCC’s Chief Financial Officer since 1992. In her current position, Jan is responsible for all fiscal elements of the OCCC, including budget management and control, financial planning, client contracts, procurement operations, sustainability, parking and box office and information technology. Jan will oversee the following divisions in her new role, Event Operations; Facility Operations; Fiscal & Operations Support and Capital Planning.
Yulita Osuba was appointed to Deputy General Manager. Yulita has over 25 years in the hospitality industry and been in management at the OCCC for more than eleven years. She is a seasoned sales professional in the industry, having served in senior sales management positions at the Daytona Beach Convention Center and the Tampa Convention Center. Yulita will oversee the following divisions within the OCCC, Sales, Marketing and Event Management; Exhibit Services; Guest & Community Relations and Security.
Kris Shoemaker has been appointed to OCCC Chief Financial Officer; Kris is a 27 year veteran, who has spent his entire career at the OCCC. He has served as the assistant business division manager since October of 2000 where he oversees the financial contract management, payroll, and budget and information technology. Kris will lead the business and information technology divisions.
David Ingram has been appointed to Event Operations Division Manager. David began his career at the OCCC in 2003 as an event manager, he has also held the position of Event Set-up Supervisor where he supervised a staff of up to 80 to ensure that clients’ needs were met and exceeded. David will continue to oversee the operations division at the OCCC.
Terry Devitt has been appointed as Manager of Facility Operations. Terry has worked at the OCCC for 16 years. He began his career as a technician in event utilities as was quickly promoted to the event management division. Terry will be responsible for facility operations and capital improvement projects.
