Not a day too soon, Orlando Police Chief Paul Rooney will present members of his DUI Enforcement Team with 10 newly outfitted vehicles to assist officers in enforcing the DUI laws of Florida.
The new vehicles, equipped with car video cameras and speed measuring devices, are expected to be a big plus in helping cops nab persons running through stop signs, apprehending drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs and in general, keeping the streets of Orlando safer.
According to a statement from OPD, since the DUI Enforcement Team was implemented in 2011, cops have performed 4,410 traffic stops and made 292 DUI arrests in the City of Orlando.
The new vehicles will be on display on Thursday at the OPD Headquarters on 110 S. Hughey Avenue at 2:00 p.m..
