Florida Woman Claimed she was Strip Searched by Cop and Tampon “Forcibly Removed”

This could be a first. But a woman has filed a lawsuit against the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, claiming she was pulled over by a cop and stripped searched on the side of the road and her tampon “forcibly removed.”

Leila Tarantino’s lawsuit claims she was pulled over by the officer after she went through a stop sign and the cop immediately drew his weapon, The Broward Palm Beach New Times reported Thursday.

Tarantino also charges she was dragged from the car without explanation and placed in the back of the police car for two hours. She was stripped searched, as motorists passed by.  But as preposterous as it sounds, Tarantino claims, a female officer “forcibly removed” a tampon from her, presumably looking for drugs, the news site also reported.

No drug-sniffing dog was called to the location and officers never found any drugs, Tarantino’s lawsuit states.
