A man who burglarized a home in Ormond Beach wearing only boxer shorts, was taken into custody, Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies said.
41-year-old Charles Snowden was booked into the Volusia County Jail and charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling.
A woman told investigators she awoke Tuesday night to the sound of an intruder coming through her sliding glass doors. The victim also said, the man proceeded to go through the silverware drawer in the kitchen, before exiting through the frong door.
Deputies who arrived on the scene, spotted a man, later identified as Snowden, dressed only in a pair of boxer shorts, in the neighborhood. He told investigators that he had been visiting a resident in the area and was looking for tennis balls for his friend’s dog. Snowden also said that, he was in his underwear only because his clothes had gotten wet while he was pressure washing earlier in the day.
Snowden denied being in the victim’s home, deputies said. Investigators believe that Snowden was under the influence of an undetermined substance at the time of his arrest. He was booked into jail on a $1,500 bond.
