Georgia Girl Killed on Florida Turnpike after Vehicle Overturns

An 11-year-old girl was killed today, when the vehicle in which she was traveling overturned on the Florida Turnpike, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened near mile marker 216 in Osceola County just before 9:00 a.m., Friday.

Paola Michelle Ramirez, 11, from Jonesboro, Georgia, was pronounced dead at the scene, after she was ejected from the 2000 Ford Excursio that overturned several times.

Norma Orozco-Villa, 34, the driver of the Ford Excursio told troopers that the left rear tire blew out causing her to lose control of the vehicle.

Troopers said, there were a total of 8 occupants in the vehicle, seven of whom were transported to the Osceola Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing into this crash.
