A three-vehicle pile up on Interstate 95 on Thursday night left two people dead and the drivers of two vehicles in critical condition.
The crash occurred two miles south of State Road 40 in Volusia County just after 10:00 p.m.
Troopers said, the three vehicles were traveling south on I-95 and all collided in the left lane.
The driver of a Ford 150, who has not been named, was taken to the Halifax Hospital where he was pronounced.
17-year-old Meredith Smith, of Palm Coast, one of the passengers in the Ford 150 was pronounced dead on the spot by the medical examiner.
Troopers also said, 22-year-old Louis N. Prinzo, of Ormond Beach, who was driving a 1996 Ford vehicle, suffered critical injuries. 30-year-old Doron N. Lyn, of New York, driving a 1991 Chevy Blazer, also sustained critical injuries. Both Prinzo and Blazer were taken to Halifax Hospital.
Tuesday Coulter, 20, of Bunnell, another passenger in the Ford 150, was seriously hurt.
I-95 was closed for several hours last night as investigators worked the crash scene.
The investigation as to what might have caused the crash is still ongoing, Florida Highway Patrol said.
